To launch its new DJ Mixes during Amsterdam Dance Event, Spotify put on a series of 600-drone light shows above the IJ in Amsterdam, each one synchronised to a set from a different DJ. Flyby Guys was pilot in command (PIC) for the shows.

About the show
The shows ran through the evening during the ADE weekend, with each one designed around a mix from Tiësto, Blond:ish, Aluna or Yung Bae. Light patterns and drone movements were synchronised to each DJ's music, turning the sky above the water into part of the festival.
A music-synchronised show needs precise timing between the show control system and the audio, so that every formation lands on the beat. It also shows how brands use drone shows as a live advertising format.
